Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Last updated: July 2026
We don't sell your personal information
SpeedSpec does not sell your personal information in the conventional sense — we are not a data broker and we don't exchange your identity for money. Depending on where you live, some privacy laws (such as California's CCPA/CPRA) define “sale” and “sharing” broadly enough to include certain analytics and advertising activity. This page explains what we do and how to opt out.
Analytics & affiliate links
With your consent, we use a product-analytics provider (PostHog) to understand which features are used, so we can improve the service. Analytics loads only after you accept our cookie banner and never under a Global Privacy Control signal. Its events never include your email address or the content of your reviews, reports, or messages — they are usage events, which include the search terms you enter and the pages you visit.
SpeedSpec also participates in affiliate programs: when you click a “buy” link and purchase from a retailer, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicks are logged for attribution and abuse-prevention, which is operationally necessary rather than a sale of your data.
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser or a browser extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out: analytics never initializes for that browser, even if a cookie banner was previously accepted. GPC is read when the page loads, so toggling it takes effect on your next visit or reload.
